Psychological Therapy

For moderate to severe depression, therapy in the form of solution focused, acceptance commitment therapy, problem-solving therapy or cognitive-behavioural therapy may be indicated.

For those presentations at the higher end of moderate level of distress, therapy may be delivered by a counsellor, psychotherapist, or psychologist with training in these or other evidence-based treatments and dependent on the individual’s needs. For more severe and/or complex presentations, a referral to Te Haika may be indicated.
