MidCentral
District Health Board is pleased to be able to offer salaried positions for
Registrars undertaking GPEP 1 and GPEP 2 training.
If
general practice is an area that interests you, here is an ideal opportunity to
train under a salary model equivalent to hospital-based registrar training posts. It offers the potential for
continuous salaried employment for the full three years of GPEP training.
GP
registrars will be placed in a variety of accredited teaching practices in
rural, urban and Maori provider settings within the MidCentral district.
The
GP registrar year is designed to include a three month attachment in Palmerston
North Hospital in accordance with
the registrars learning needs. Further hospital attachments may be arranged as
required.

be eligible you must be able to gain registration in New Zealand. Help can be
provided to suitable candidates regarding registration and residency
requirements.
MidCentral
District Health Board serves a total population of 161,000 people. It provides a 300 bed secondary hospital
in Palmerston North which is also a teaching hospital with links to both Auckland and Otago medical schools. General practice services are provided
by 43 general practice teams spread across the Manawatu, Palmerston North, Tararua and Horowhenua and
Otaki districts.
Palmerston North is a major
university city and is at the hub of key routes to the central North
Island ski fields, and river adventures. Wellington the capital city, is only a two
hour journey by road, as are the wine growing regions of Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa.
